The Kentucky House Branch up through Lockford, Clements, Valley Springs and the Cement Plant at San Andreas was active until about 1984. When I worked for the Army Corps we used to exit bar into the street in Valley Springs and salute the westbound loads with our beers. I recall 3 or 4 GP-9 rebuilds to handle 14 cars of cement in 1977. That was about the end of the good days.
