NG tracks - Dual gauge tracks in LA?

My faint memory is that there was some dual-gauge trackage somewhere in LA, which I assume was the Los Angeles Railway and PE.

Maybe this should be a separate thread, but I wonder how much dual gauge trackage there was - less than a mile, several miles -- only in or near "yards" or car barns?

Any information appreciated, including cites of books containing more details and photos.
