Whe you get to the top of "The Galloway" (as it is locally known) you need to go to the right (West) on FR30 bearing to the right at the next junction, then left. Off to the left of 30, you should see the remains of a verticle mine shaft (I assume some stuff is still there)called Mott Shaft. It is actually a ventilation shaft for the Ruby but at one time in the last 20 or so years some guys were working parts of the Ruby by way of that shaft.
If you go to Google maps and do a search for Ruby Mine, it will show you the exact location as well as satellite images. I haven't been up there in many years, probably at least 10. When I was there, it was heavily posted and fenced off. From what I could see, most if not all of the buildings were gone including the large bunk and cookhouse building.
When you get to the Galloway/FR 30 jct, the Galloway goes straight and down into a ranch. The last time I went down there I damn near got my jeep stuck. Going left will eventually take you to Glison Spring and Jackson Meadow but that is a long drive.
Hope this helps
