I think it was shut down because of fire on the bridge at the far end of the loop. Rode it many times it was the start and end of trips to the zoo for me and later my kids.

They did a nice job when it was rebuilt, tho would have like to see it loop the zoo so one could see behind the scenes. I was not sure where the original loco came from but my parents seemed to think it came from the exposition on Treasure Island.
