Ironic. I've always been a big UP fan. Didn't follow the WP much. SP held my sway in Sacramento where I grew up. Heading up to Portola one summer day in '85 to go see the Big Jack that was delivered to the Museum up there, we stopped at Williams loop for photos of an eastbound. In the engine consist was my first and last look of a trailing Centennial actually working! Needless to say, I was jumping up and down and we tried to follow the train to Portola. But it had left town, before we got there. It was indeed huge. Now, I kick myself for not getting out and about more......
