Heaviest traffic is coal, which comes off Windemere Sub from Golden at Ft. Steele, running East to Sparwood and the Fording River Sub.
Fewer trains run through Cranbrook and over Crowsnest; about three per day each way last time I was there (pre-recession).
Crowsnest Hwy 3 runs close to CPR at number of locations.
