It is my understanding that the problems weren't with the 265 H engine, but were almost exclusively electrical (including computer/software) in nature. There were some initial bugs with the H engine, but those have all been worked out, and it is in fact a "great engine". The marine industry is currently using it, as are Chinese locomotives (rated at 6000 HP) provided by EMD.

Anyone know how the Chinese engines are performing?
