I believe the CEFX SD-9043's had their isolated cabs modified and that was much of the problem with ride quality. After long term use on rough track, they found that the isolated cabs would start having more than the allowable movment in the rubber bushings and elswhere and the cab flopping around greatly intensified any rough riding qualities. As for 6,000 hp units, 2 6,000's and one dies, train no move, 3 4,400 or 4 3,000 and one dies, you still get to town, just slowly.
