Dunno if this will get anywhere but it reflects buyers remorse over the hsr.

Prop 1A is very specific and restrictive - I wouldn't be surprized if it gets amended along the way. Altamont has it advantages - especially the link to BART at Livermore.

For a project that is touted as revolutionary, the Palmdale-Tehachapis detour is way too timid. A direct route with base tunnels is a better investment for the 21st century.
