I was a manager at the Eureka Inn in the mid 90's. I also drove the trolley that the Inn had at that time and gave tours to many cruise passengers. They were almost all disappointed with their stop in Eureka, the lack of attractions and shopping, the weather, the homeless everywhere downtown don't make for a very enjoyable day. I sincerely hope the Eureka Inn makes it, It is an incredible property and it is a shame what John Biord did to it. The problem will be overcoming the millions of dollars in deferred maintenance and the horrible reputation that was well earned during those last few years.
