I'm a bit doubtful about the sustainability of a tourist operation so far away from a major city, without any other really big tourist attractions nearby.

It sounds like another McCloud situation - good scenery but way too far away from everything else for a sustainable operation. The closest they will get to a good redwood park is at South Fork -- that's about a mile from Founders' Grove, and redwood parks in winter aren't a real tourist draw in any case.

I really hope I'm wrong.
