I am not representing anything or anyone other than my personal opinion.
Again, the helicopter on Sat was, IIRC, a news copter. Find their complaint department.
As for "not being able to see what's pulling the train". I can say for the entire route along the Sound, it was full of enough curves so everyone in a vestibule, baggage door, and even coach window, were able to see the train many, many times. If you were on the ground you were lucky at best to get more than two shots, one each way. Yeah, there was also the theater car too.
As a carhost in one of the domes, I can say I had nothing but happy paying passengers. And if the windows got dirty (the UP guys washed them the day before the trip), it was due to the two Worlds Most Famous 4-8-4's. I'll live with any of that kind of dirt, thank you.
There were still plenty of seats availible. How ever, the trip did generate more revenue than a sold out train if at $100.00 less per seat.
Hmm, I'm thinking of chartering a helicopter for the first run on the NWP. I think that would be just great. Heck, I'll invite a few buddies! Cajon revisited...you bet! To have video of the crying babies throwing rocks and calling the FAA in orange and purple shirts has market value!
Get a life.
