I agree with "Mikado:" Neither image is great. I would not have pressed the camera's trigger for that one.

Rather than detail the software and editing choices used, why not discuss the quality of light (or lack thereof). One does not require $5,000 worth of Canon's finest digital camera equipment to achieve excellent images, capable of being posted on the Internet, printed in magazines and / or calendars, or hung on the wall. Instead of trying to rescue mediocre images, why not search a bit harder, or get more creative, to find (or, at night, create) a lighting situation which yields a stunning image?
