Westside Line Reroutes in 1989

Yesterday I posted about the Manteca derailment of a 58 car train in Feb. 1989. This derailment blocked the valley line. SP had a number of westbounds stuck south of the derailment. At that time the westside line was still complete from Fresno, through Los Banos to Tracy. It was slow track but usable, so that is what SP did. On Feb. 20, 1989 a number of trains ran up the valley that way.
