Seward, Alaska may be the United States' heaviest-tonnage Pacific coal port at present. In 2009, unit coal trains were moving in at what appeared to be a "several per week" rate. (This is based upon casual observation over a couple weeks in September, and not inquiry of the shipper or railroad.)
