I think many of the problems with the California education system goes back to good old Prop 13. This basically took away all local control of how money was spent and generated in a local school district plus the ability to have more control over funding. Then we have Sacramento politicians controlling the circulum and putting all emphasis on college prep. when less than 50% of the students make it to college. It's not all the educators fault, the blame rests equally with politicians and Prop 13.

I hope to see NWP trains running in the near future but again we have political forces fighting them every inch of the way.
