From years of watching trains Saturday nights in Spokane and listening to the Dispatcher's radio, I am comfortable in stating that BNSF consistently makes a significant effort to keep Amtrak (Empire Builder) moving, on time. Most of the time the Builder's O.T. performance is good. If they have engine problems, BNSF is quick to provide whatever power may be available to help Amtrak.

Some BNSF Dispatchers get downright pissed if a freight crew screws up and might possibly delay Amtrak. Most Dispatchers won't run a freight in the face of Amtrak if there is any chance of a delay.

Kudos to BNSF in their handling of Amtrak.
