There is no real need to shutdown any part of the government on any specific day, just because congress has not agreed on the annual budget; as the budget itself is actually a meaningless document. It is the actual appropriation bills passed throughout the year that count, and they are good until the appropriated money runs out. Any specific shut down day is actually caused by bureaucrats taking sides in matters that are supposed to be left up to congress to decide. Just more mob rule!

As I recall, last time such silliness occurred, the only people who noticed (other than blaring silly headlines), were those who were dependent upon the gov'mint like a child is dependent upon his parents. Those who are not so dependent (most of us) just kept on truckin' as usual.

Was it those on the right that will not compromise? Last time they did, they lost the next election big time! Or was it those on the left that have also refused to compromise? Or maybe it is those like the Wisconsin senators, who abandoned their posts and left the state, rather than face a majority will vote up or down on the issue. Do they really believe in democracy - doesn't seem so!

Actually to blame are those on either side of the isle who have already spent us into oblivion. And why do they keep doing that? Only because money is power! Money that is actually not theirs, is power that is also not theirs; so they do it only to usurp more power to themselves. You're very naive if you think it's done for any other reason - such as to help people - it ain't!


Since this sort of thing, and many other big 'letdowns', have repeatedly occurred over the last 50 years, you would think that we would all have learned by now, that the GOVERNMENT JUST AIN'T VERY RELIABLE - and should never be relied upon - NOT EVER!

But sheep just never learn, I guess!
