Three days of D&S winter photo specials

Spent three days riding winter mixed trains on the D&S. I've posted some pix on my website and you can see the thumbnails HERE. Click on the thumbnail for a larger version.

The first day was the annual D&S winter photo special, which has evolved from using the Grande Gold regular passenger cars to a nice all DRGW mixed train. The 478 was freshly shopped and letter DRGW in the style of the 30's. The mixed consist used three of the green passenger cars to complete the DRGW effect. The D&S crews are really into photo ops and the runbys were numerous and well planned. The train turned at Rockwood and backed up the canyon to provide morning lighting on a southbound train.

The second two days were a private charter and ran one day as a passenger and one day as a mixed, with some changes of consist enroute.

It was a nice three days of winter steam.
