Charles Clegg, Lucius Beebe's partner-photographer, introduced me to narrow gauge brakemen. Post-war 1940s: Books and trip to Colorado financed by delivering a lot of newspapers.
My trip included the Rio Grande Southern, the mailtruck to Durango, next day to Denver.

Post-retirement, I became a laborer of many skills on the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad.
