I would not consider this as STEAM IS BACK. Nor i'm sure would the 30+ who lost their jobs when GCR ended steam in 2008. I don't consider a few 8 mile trips steam is back. Their are smaller tourist railroads in the US that run more days and longer runs than that. 8 miles is just a test run. And what steam program?? Xantera does not care about the engines. Their not "green" enough. Only reason they run 4960 at all is for publicity saying they are using waste vegetable oil. Better then the diesel they were using i am sure. From what I have heard from former employees of GCR, they preferred 29 over 4960.29 just ran better and had a lot less problems than 4960. 4960 i believe does go down this year for the 1472.
