Please be aware that I was not attacking literacy per se, but rather the checking and proofreading of one's posts. I recognize that not everyone has the education or experience to spell or write with literacy. I accept that in this environment. My concern was that people don't check their postings for their own errors. Far more people have a high school education (80+ percent), with so little attention to the English langueage, than a college education. Again, my concern is that we, who are readers of Altamont Press (or any other forum) want to be able to understand the posting, and many of these are not understandable to the lay person because of simple errors in keystroking.
