I thought at first they are going 12.5khz narrowband and eventually 6.25NXDN Digital. One thing I do find confusing though is this PTC. How will this overly with digtial or narrowband. For instance I thought that PTC will be using 220Mhz. The railroads are using 160-161Mhz. So when they go digital at some point will they abandoned the 160Mhz all together or will they simply make that digital. Also My understanding is that digtial is some years off but what is the timeframe of digital? I am considering a new radio so I like to find out some information for the future.
