We know some truckers (I have proof from law enforcement reports) like railroads very much because that gives them a source of locomotive horns to steal to make their chrome trucks more obnoxious.
Truckers contribute NOTHING to highway maintenance until they license their trucks, buy fuel or actually drive them on the road by the way of use taxes. If things get tough they simply park their truck and wait for the economy to improve.
Railroads, as common carriers REQUIRED BY LAW to provide service, must keep their facilities in repair and available for that one car that may need to move until such time they are able to abandon the line.
The deck is obviously stacked against the railroads and in favor of the whiners.
