So Trucker Bob, are you ready to cough up the $1.5 million it would cost to rebuild the Coulee Meadows Road in Douglas County to be able stand up to wheat truck traffic? That would be $42.85 for every man, woman and child in the county. I don't think that would fly with the taxpayers, me included.
One of the arguements for the purchase of the CW was that the money spent on bringing the line up to shape and keeping it there would be a great deal less than the money that would have to be spent annually to bring state and county roads up to standards that would allow a large volume of heavy truck traffic. There's no real winner in this arguement.
