A few yeras ago, on the NWP, they demonstrated a double ended diesel railbus. I believe that it was called the Regio Sprinter, or something like that. I took a ride on it and was impressed. Even room for baby carriages and bicycles. The Petaluma paper, the Argus Currier carried the story and photo's. Yep, I am in the photo. Also, if I remember correctly, one of the issues was the lack of sidings, in lieu of double tracks.
