The pedestrian overpass adjacent to the Central Meadow at Chambers Bay is also faily new.

The location is part of the Chambers Bay golf complex in University Place, southwest of Tacoma. It has excellent sightlines in both directions, and a nice sweep of the shoreline.

The crossovers at CP Pioneer are just south of the overpass, and the Chambers Creek lift bridge (AKA Bridge 14) is just south of the crossovers.

A good telephoto lens will allow you to "catch and release" trains around the bay to the south at Steilacoom. With binoculars, you can even spot trains as they round the point south of the town.

Free public parking is available both down by the meadow and up on the bluffs overlooking it. The bluffs also provide a good elevated view of the tracks and the pedestrain bridge. There is a trail that parallels the road down the hill to the meadow parking area, and the area also has a fenced-in area for exercising dogs off-leash.
