Unless it has changed in the last few weeks, that's not true. You can park free up the street along side the ferry holding lanes by the marina/minimart for free.

Also, on the way to Sunnyside Park, just as the street starts down the hill, you can park for free along the curb and walk the quarter mile down the hill to the park. The best shooting spots are right along there, anyway.

There are time limits on the parking, but they are reasonable.

Please advise if the parking in these spots has changed to pay in the last couple of weeks.
