Sad news from the Missoula area .... I've photographed this line dozens of times over 30-some years. It has indeed been traffic-starved for a good while, its weekly train rarely having more than 3-4 revenue cars. Maybe an oft-mentioned commuter operation will one day save it. Story doesn't specifically say, but heavy rains and subsequent high water may have further damaged what already apparently was a compromised Bitterroot River overcrossing south of Florence ....
