But participation in this hobby should be about advancing the art of it. And here that has been done well. Too the artist, what the eye sees is paramount; while the mechanics of the medium is secondary.

So Marty's mastering of those mechanics in order to make the camera see as his artist's eye sees, is no different than Michaelangelo doing the same thing with oils.
