The hassles involved in driving between Interstate 5 & the Tacoma Ports are almost entirely the fault of the Omnipotent Almighty Empire of Fife. The powers that be in the City of Fife have refused to cooperate with any plans to alleviate traffic conjestion @ I - 5 & Port of Tacoma Rd, and I - 5 & 54th St. When the State DOT offered to build an overpass @ I - 5 & Alexander Ave, the city refused. Fife is also pissed that the long - needed extension of Hwy. 167 from Puyallup to Hwy. 509 in Port of Tacoma will slice through a corner of their precious muddy fields. Fife is already quite anal in posting almost all their streets as " No Trucks ", but of course the city takes the tax revenue the warehouses ( and their trucks ) provide !!!
