When I hired as a trainmaster I was administered a drug test. While not part of the random drug / alcohol test pool, I would have been subjected to reasonable suspicion or post-accident testing.
Don't understand the comment about Krebs running a company "into the ground." I recall him being criticized by Wall Street for wasting precious capital on such projects as the Willow Springs Intermodal Facility. This was a time when the industry was described as "going out of business" by an executive because railroads could earn more money by investing than running trains. Krebs retired 10 years ago - just before the significant uptick in traffic that took advantage of the merger, the new locomotive purchases and the facility improvements that occurred on his watch. I'll let others comment on Dick Davidson.
