Like I said Why expensive Schaumberg? Why not Kansas City or Topeka?
At least the railroad went through those towns!
Krebs was a spoiled liitle "Diaper Boy" whose dada ran Crocker Bank who would loan money to the old SP.
The deal for "Diaper Boy" was the SP had to hire him if they didnt want the spiket turned off,
The SP did and Diaper Boy did a bunch of stupid stuff like reduce the size of El Paso yard so he could sell the land for develoment, he got in trouble for that but was never fired!
In a smooth move SP shoved him off on the Santa Fe during the atempted SFSP merger and became CEO and made a mess of things.
Diaper Boy during the BN-SF merger wanted BN to move to Schaumberg and the BN board laughed at him and said "NO you move to Ft Worth"
Diaper Boy retired soon after!
