Looking at the pictures they should never have put that pole where they did. I think in this case it's money well spent to make it right(the way is should have been to begin with).

Creating a choke point in any system (being rail, road, water etc.) is just dumb.

The engineering firm should get a charge-back on this, but they probably have a signature somewhere as "accepted" passing the buck.

I have no love for the bicycle community, but they had a legitimate gripe on this one.
