This pole is but one example of how our culture disrespects sidewalk users by cluttering our sidewalks with utility poles, signal poles, hydrants, advertising signs, benches, sign posts, mailboxes, parking meters, bike racks, low trees, kiosks, waste cans, etc. How many places do you know of where the sidewalk is not wide enough for three people (to allow two people to walk side-by-side and another one to pass)?
