Seattle bicycle riders are jackasses !!! I had to literally strong - arm one last year in downtown as he ran a red signal, to prevent him from hitting the 4 women I was escorting through a marked crosswalk with green signal. As he picked himself up off the ground and began threatening me, the Seattle cop who watched the whole thing sent me on my way and began a traffic stop on the bicyclist !!!
Seattle's shortline Ballard Terminal RR has had a years - long fight with local bicycle advocates, including Seattle's now Mayor " McSchwinn " ( Mike McGinn ), over their Right of Way. The bicycle folks want BTRR to abandon its' tracks, in place for over 100 years, so they can use the R of W as a link between the Burke - Gilman Trail ( ex - NP, nee S,LS & E ), and the Shilsole bike route. As well, there is ongoing controversy over bicyclists hooking their tires in the rails when passing over the tracks. Well DUH !!! I learned at the ripe young age of 8, not to hit a groove or road seam straight on !!! And this was before bike lanes, when I had to ride in the street !!!
