The biggest problem is that even if they had the money and actually had something to ship, nothing would get built because of the large faction of people in Humboldt who don't want anything built. This would be tied up for decades by the environmentalists, permitting, etc. Think the Forest Service is going to allow a right of way? Even if the local Forest is supportive, it's not going to happen. It can now take 15 - 20 years for the USFS to complete simple, non controversial land swaps. A recent timber sale in N California of trees burned in a fire was cancelled after finally working it's way through all of the red tape and appeals. Why was it cancelled? It had take so long to be sold that the majority of the timber marked had fallen over and rotted. You really think that there is a chance in hell that this railroad will happen.... Think again
