I'm not sure what San Diego has in common with the other two, but Humboldt Bay is very shallow and the the bar entrance and ship channel are in need of frequent dredging. The jetty and turning basin limit the size of ships and winter storms are a real problem scheduling movements. But I guess if you turn it into an LNG/coal/container port technology and money would take care of that?? At least Coos Bay still has the railroad.......that is a big thing.
