He wasn't referring to you in particular as a "waste of space." Considering the other ne’er-do-wells he mentioned, i.e. homeless/vandals/thieves, the "wastes of space" in this case are likely tweakers, stoners, crackheads, drug dealers, gang bangers, etc., NOT you, "Trail user" or others of your ilk. You need to take a chill pill and not take everything so personally dude! You're offended and there truly is no reason for you to be offended! You sound like a productive member of society to me. Maybe there aren't as many homeless, etc. where you live, and you should consider yourself fortunate for that, but they are everywhere here in CA, especially lots of drug users where I live. I can't look out my window without seeing degenerates like I described walking by, and I can only imagine how many more I'd see if a trail ran by my house. They like places such as trails, where they can do their thing with minimal interference by police and concerned citizens. A creek runs behind my house. It's overgrown now, but any time I've cleared it out, the number of punk kids going down there to smoke weed and drink and people prowling around down there at night skyrockets. Trails are like creeks, although intended for the general public to use.
