I appreciate the interesting points made on this thread. While I am in favor of HSR in concept, it seems to be progressing in the complete wrong way with ballooning costs, lack of expenditure at terminal ends at the expense of building in the middle of nowhere and obvious conflicts of interest. HSR advocates put me on an email list to subscribe to their paid propaganda. As much as anyone else, I dislike being sold a bill of goods. I've seen this done at work and have protested and once in a while I have been heard.
On the other hand, if you had viewed this thread earlier today, one individual posted some of the most hateful garbage seen here and at my request, Mr. Curlee deleted his 2 posts. You know who you are and had better be careful in posting your offensive drivel. Sadly, you can't be banned from this free discussion forum.
