What Amtrak needs to do is bid out the franchise for food....like what DB did a while ago. Put companies stores on the train. I think they experimented with a McDonalds on one of their ICE trains. Amtrak could do better, pull a devoted car in the train as a REAL restaurant car. I see those GSF trucks everywhere, the ones that pull into a McDonalds and restock the store. Couldn't be that hard delivering content to the same place all the time, albeit at different times.

Off topic a little, if you know your European rolling stock, I really get a kick seeing those restaurant/buffet cars that have their own pantographs on the roof to steal a little power for the cars needs.
