As far as the Geneva Subdivision is concerned, the reason for traffic down on it is the decline in coal business. There aren't as many coal trains running on it as there once were, mainly due to the warmer weather. Also, in reality, they have been running the MASPR that way quite a bit lately, instead of via Villa Grove, so, although it doesn't seem like it, there is really one extra M train symbol over there quite frequently these days. Hope this answers your question.
