It's all about the money now , isn't it? When passenger trains can yield the return on investment that freight does, then ,and only then, will the railroads make the concessions necessary for HSR to become a functioning reality. The stuff in boxcars and containers won't hire lawyers if there is an accident or a delay either. Amtrak is tolerated only by federal mandate as it is.
