Allprevious answers given are accurate. Traffic has been inconsistant for many months. Seeing the latest UP power is possible but the newset units seem to head to California not the Northwest. The depot is a wonderful place to look over and appriciate it's archtecture.
Many great on line photo spots either direction but you must work with the sunlight a lot.
For the first time in years the yard has been getting some work in terms of ties, ballast and lining. It is needed!
INPR now has two Nebraska Central geeps 4606/4608 in the stable with one making the M/W/F run to Elgin. Currently one has been parked with 4 ballast hoppers at Imbler for several days.
Daily INPR does run from the La Grande yard to switch the Boise Cascade particale Board plant and Momentive glue at Baum. Easy access for pictures as Oregon Hwy 82 is alongside.
