OK Josh. those are steep and quite nasty in bad weather, but try "Rattlesnake grade" between Asotin, Wa. and Enterprise, Ore. in blizzard conditions. Been there and done that one more than a few times. ODOT just closed the Flora Maintenance Station on this Hwy. to save money and relocated the 2 workers that lived there to Enterprise. ODOT's biggest expense was running diesel generators 24/7 for power. We locals doubt that ODOT will be able to keep this hwy. open during storms and clear of rock falls with workers having to travel from Enterprise.
