I guess I should do some more research. I wasn't aware of any significant problems that could be solved without more taxpayer money. The Stockton depot platform was imporved recently, but still no awning for passengers and still just a tent cover for busses. The contractor for that took months to repour a platform that did not pose any tripping hazards, and then they installed new lights and a railing. Four months. I wonder how much milking that was.
I used to work out of Hobart and San Bernardino at seperate times. I thought the rail consortium (Metrolink) there did a pretty good job of it. I never was around the Coaster, so I have no experience there, but I always thought it was kind of foolish to give up the right of way. That's going to happen also with the SanJac.
BOB2, could you provide a couple of links to shed some light on the San Joaquin problems?
