The smell of creosote ties and the sweet smell of cooking tomatoes at the Hunts plant in Fullerton, CA. The plant was served by both ATSF and UP/SP. You knew it was tomato season when Brookhurst Street became covered with smashed tomatoes that fell out of the uncovered trucks. Remembering the days of riding my bike to Hunt Branch Library after school, so I could read and watch trains at the same time.
