NORC uses "speed signals" red over yellow is "restricting" (15 mph stop in half the range of vision) train in the same block.

GCOR has no signals. Each railroad has signals in their timetable. The Soo Line (CP in US) uses "route signals". They let you know the route and you have to know the speed of the turnout.

In Canada there is one rule book with signals for the whole country. This includes the BNSF when they cross the border, they have to use the Canadian rules
