I liked the ride on the Talgo, especially the tilting aspects, but do agree that it does not compare to the comfort of a Superliner or even Heritage coach. The seat assignment process is indeed a pain in the butt; I like to be able to select my seat based on window positioning, and the seat selection game takes that option away from me. The worst thing, for me, is that idiotic row of TV screens overhead. I take the train for scenery, and having that thing flash commercials and "route information", always changing screens, etc., is highly annoying. I find it continally jerking me out of my scenic reverie, and because it's always within your field of vision, it's always jerking your vision towards it. I find I spend half the trip trying to avoid looking at the screen. Like at the airport, it seems you just can't get away from freakin' TVs, even on a train. I'd rather take a Superliner.
