It's far better now, than it used to be. I remember when the Talgos started running, the Conductors implored everyone to close the curtains to watch the movie. HATED THAT!!!! Later the curtain announcement went away, but the movies were of no interest to me.
I don't mind the route map so much and now they've done away with the movies, all you see is the route map, plus your typical station announcements and the little "Welcome Aboard" video leaving Vancouver and Tacoma (or Tukwila?)
The more I think about it, the more I think the Talgo trainset is overrated...three or four ordinary coaches, with a cafe car, would do the job just fine. So the train would be 10 minutes slower at the endpoint.
